Policy regarding "outside" boats:

Guests wishing to use a rowboat with an electric motor must rent the boat from us rather than bringing in a boat from outside of Crooked Lake.  The purpose of this policy is solely to help prevent the transfer of exotic species such as Asian Milfoil or Zebra Mussels into Crooked Lake.  These and other exotic species spread from lake to lake by attaching onto boats, live wells and boat trailers.   Please understand that these exotic species can have a very negative effect on a lake and we want do everything possible to prevent their introduction into Crooked Lake.

We do allow our guest to bring outside canoes or kayaks to the resort.  Canoes and kayaks are much less likely to spread exotic species between lakes because they are typically stored on dry land when not being paddled providing ample drying time to destroy any exotic species attached to them, however we ask our guest to inspect their canoe or kayak as a precaution.

14’ and/or 12’ aluminum rowboats are available to rent to our guests.

Boat rental includes an anchor, two oars and electricity for charging the electric motor battery.  Guests are responsible for providing their own electric motors, batteries, battery charger and life jackets.  Guests are responsible for leaving their rental boat clean at the end of their rental.

Rowboats rent to our guests for $50.00/week plus tax or $10/day plus tax.

Our rental boats may not be taken off Crooked Lake.

Electric motors are limited to an equivalent of 48 lbs of thrust or 4hp.

Electric motors are not allowed in the Sylvania Wilderness Area with the exception of Crooked Lake.

Gas motors are not allowed at our resort or in the Sylvania Wilderness Area.

Park policies:
Gas motorsboats are not allowed on any of the lakes in the Sylvania Wilderness Area with one exception:  a few Crooked Lake property owners and their guests are allowed to take thier gas powered fishing boats into the wilderness area on Crooked Lake.     Electric motors are allowed in the Wilderness Area on Crooked Lake only.  Electric motors are limited to an equivalent of 48lbs of thrust or 4hp.
